Watched Alemaari Morning show at Kapali. with a Huge crowd.
My Review:
1) Yogi & Radhika Pandit have performed to show case why they deserved state award. Believe me both have excelled in there Roles.
2) Josh fame Rakesh Adiga is a surprise package, the chocolate boy excels in negative role. He sure has all the possibilities to become a Mass hero.
3) Songs & Background score by Arjun Janya is superb.
4) Dialogues by Manju Mandavya are catchy & opt to the subject.
5) Choreography could have been much better knowing Yogi being a good dancer.
6) Last but not the least Director Santhu Alemaari 's hardwork, grip on the subject can be seen on the screen.
Overall the movie has the "feel" only the "Feel" of Prem's Excuse Me & Jogi.
My Overall Rating would be 4/5
Times of India Review:
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/entertainment/movie-reviews/kannada/Alemaari/movie-review/12197929.cms
Critic's Rating: ****/*****
Cast: Yogesh, Radhika Pandit, Umashri, Adi Lokesh, Nayana, ‘Josh’ Rakesh, Raju Talikote
Direction: Santhu
Genre: Drama
Duration: 2 hours 22 minutes
Story : Full marks to director Santhu for his excellent depiction of a romantic story that has class and mass appeal. Santhu joins the band of young directors who has given freshness to narration, sequences and script to sentimental stories that appeal to all classes of audience, skipping the routine Sandalwood style.
Movie Review: Santhu, in his directorial debut, has shown how a romantic story can be told in a different way with excellent placement of songs, brilliant dialogues by Manju Mandavya and extraordinary cinematography by Manjunath M Nayak. A feature of the narration is that the hero tells his story through dreams and the director gives life to the dreams.
The story moves in two tracks. In one, we have hero Mohana (Yogesh), a milk vendor, falling in love with Neeli (Radhika Pandit), daughter of music teacher (Ramesh Bhat) who are a middle-class Brahmin family. The other track, for Loose Mada (Yogesh) fans, has underworld don Palav Chandra (Adi Lokesh), brother-in-law of Mohana, making use of Nimhans Suri ('Josh' Rakesh) to kill his rivals. The story takes a curious turn when Suri attacks Mohana and leaves him physically impaired. In another twist, Neeli gets married to another man and has a baby boy. And we have a brilliant climax with the physically impaired hero meeting her lover who is married. How do they feel?
Yogesh is brilliant as a loverboy and physically impaired person; Radhika is lively as the girl next door; Nayana impresses you with her bold and beautiful performance; Adi Lokesh has done justice to the role; 'Josh' Rakesh makes a positive beginning as a villain. Music by Arjun Janya has some catchy tunes.

Alemaari - Review from Supergoodmovies.com
ANALYSIS –
In the very first film director Santhu in ‘Alemari’ has shown high degree of skill. He has stitched the scenes well, made the story look interesting, mixed with comedy, tragedy, music, love, revenge and other elements. The only point that Santhu need to correct is in the length. In the first half he has consumed too much of time to say a very few things. In the second half he takes time further more. The film ‘Alemari’ chopped half an hour could be a better cinema.
Look at the title of ‘Alemeri’ – dream chaser in the caption clearly mention that the wanderer not meet his dream. Director Santhu remained loyal to the title. The viewers feel depressed when his own mother does not recognize Mohan. A mother not able to trace that wanderer is her own son is not acceptable. She offers solace to the dejected stage of the wanderer but not identifying is not acceptable. Not even once she will not visualize the guy before her eyes to her son.
Director Santhu might have done a good make up for the face, walking style and hair style of Yogish. A mother is very sensitive character in this world is what he should know.
In the dialogue department the film is a winner as Manju Mandavya has carefully worded. He lives up to the expectations and the real stunner of this film is cameraman Manjunatha Nayak. In the opening of the film the camera placed to the moving lorry wheels shows the class in this cameraman Manjunath Nayak.
One of the songs might be in wrong placement and others are according to the expectations of discerning audience the music of Arjun Janya is the high point. Three songs are terrific, melodious and lives long.
What are the news areas the new directors has looked at? There may not be many but the skill of the director is good asset to the Kannada cinema industry.
In a pure love story the underworld nexus stops the family audience to come to the theatre is what the director should have judged on the papers.
PERFORMANCE –
This is the career best performance of Yogish. He really needs an award because of his portrayal in the change of his outlook. His mannerisms especially shaking the head, walking style is the growth of an actor in Yogi. He has his quota of action, dance and less hair on the head and slight beard he looks better.
It is a winning performance from Radhika Pandit. She is really the ‘Pandit’ in acting. Her looks, emoting capacity, liveliness would definitely give the strongest placement for this actress of high potentiality. Radhika Pandit from this film gives a stiff challenge to her competitors. After Ramya she is the best today in Kannada cinema.
Nayana as friend Shruthi is very cool and renders good support. Rakesh is difficult to digest as a underworld don. Adhi Lokesh has nothing special. Mico Nagaraj as don with delectable dialogues wins the hearts. Ramesh Bhat as father is superb again. Umasri is flawless in her role.
TECHNICALITY –
The cinematography, editing, art direction, music and stunts are top class in ‘Alemari’. The first half of the film is a real musical treat and second half the action scenes, rain effect and two more songs gives good standing to this film.
Manjunath Nayak shows his struggle from every shot he brings it on silver screen. Arjun Janya has given three best tunes out of five. Two are for the front benchers. Neeli Neeli….is the best song of this ‘Alemari’, Thundi Bidi Kachikondu….is peppy and Ale Aleyo Alemari….theme song of this film is haunting.
Last but not the Least – ‘Struggle and hard work’ should not be corrupted! That is ‘Alemari’!
VERY GOOD FIRST ATTEMPT - Score – 3/5
Cast – Yogish, Radhika Pandit, Ramesh Bhat, Umasri, Mico Nagaraj, Raju Thalikote, Adhi Lokesh, Rakesh, Nayana and others
Music – Arjun Janya
Cinematography – Manjunath Nayak
Producer – BK Srinivas
Story, screenplay, lyrics, Direction – Santhu

Hi Santhu Alemaari and the team,
Watched the movie over the weekend in a local theater
Rating: 9/10 Worth? Should watch atleast twice!
Great points-
1> Director's debut
2> Bettered the Pros in clean and clear screenplay and direction
3> Keeps the audience guessing till the end even though the movie seems to be predictable from the first scene
4> Meaningfull lyrics
5> Soothing music
6> Great BGM. Heard classical instruments used after a long time so effectively
7> Very good casting
8> Rich presentation where necessary
9> Lovely dialogues used intelligently.
Bad-
1> Opening was a lag
2> First half seems to be too lengthy making you wait for interval, even though there is content.
3> Editting should have been better. Not saying bad but was not upto the level of the storyline or screenplay.
Best scene- at the pre-climax when someone calls out umashri-
"Nin maga banda nodu"
Loved the mystery, anticipation it created and the tragic disappointment
Worst scene-
When the heroine runs out of the hospital to call the hero.
Supposed to be an emotional scene backed with wonderfull BGM
But the wide shot gives an impression as if the heroine was literally made to run in slow motion making the scene comic.
Could have improved to make it perfect-
1> Definitely editting
2>Rakesh Adiga's body language and voice which did not support his character much.
3> A couple of shots could have been shot better. Although they were good.
Overall it was pleasing to watch a movie which delivered more than what it promised after a long time in kannada industry.
Loved the things which you have tried to cover in the story like effect of rowdism, vulnerability of the girls and fate.
Two thimbs up @Santhu, I just loved your dream!!!!
Note- This is the first of its kind movie review I have ever written and it is to show how much I loved the work:)

alemaarige veeru marks :)
Anyhow, Well done Mr.Santhu and Team.. All The Best.

Alemaari - Audio Review
'Alemari’ Audio Review- Arjuna Vijaya!
Debut directors very rarely get this kind of lovely songs. It happened for S Narayan in 1990 from Hamsalekha ‘Chaitradha Premanjali’, Gurukiran as debutant gave music in ‘A’ starring Upendra debut as an actor and later lot of newcomers had good innings from Gurukiran music direction starting from ‘Majnu’.
Now Santhu feel proud for the lovely scoring from Arjun Janya the rapidly growing tune task master in Kannada filmdom.
‘Alemari’ by producer BK Srinivas has very good quality and singer’s selection is also top class. In this audio album the making of all the songs is a boon to every listener.
The songs in the audio album are written by first director Santhu. He has given variety never going identical. The selection of words of Santhu is so up to date and clever.
1. Neeli Neeli Ninna Kannali...
Singers – Shreya Goshal and Javed Ali
Music – Arjun Janya
Lyrics – Santhu
Neeli Neeli Ninna Kannalli….hudukove ninello khali khali ninna mansalli thumdidhe Eneno……Adhu Naanana Nanilladhe Hege Iruve Jaane…. Sung by Shreya Goshal and Javed Ali welcomes the music lovers with a classical touch in it - Raaga Yeega Badalagi Hogide Manaselli Jaridhe….Yaro Nanna Mare Madi Hogidhe….This is the feelings of the female protagonist. Prana Hodhare Usiraguve….is the ultimate expression of love. The male protagonist wants to know whether he is the one in her mind in this song. The blue color is the beauty of this song. Shreya Goshal in an interview stated that this is a lovely song she has rendered so far. The balancing of lyrics and song lines is so good in this song.
2. Thundu Beedi Hachchikondu...
Singers – Khailash Kher and Priya Himesh
Music – Arjun Janya
Lyrics – Santhu
Thundu Beedi Hachchi kondu Orru Bitaithu….Nakkaga Nanna Heart Ninthoithu….a love expressing song in the fast style of lyrics and musical instruments supporting it – this is also partly mixed with western style - khailash kher rare voice suits this freaking out song.
3. Maribeku Ninna Maribeku...
Singers – Karthik
Music – Arjun Janya
Lyrics – Santhu
Maribeku ninna maribeku....mareyodhu hego Kalibeki...Ninna Hesare Hasira Usiru.. the use of guitar is good in this song. Karthik singing style is once again could be easily lapped up. The sorrow mood of the song is found in this song. The comparisons are impressive from writer Santhu. Oh Brahma Nini Iddare Manasaare Kelu….Aa Hudugige helu Yee Hudugana paadu….is the extreme of sorrow of the protagonist.
4. Nee Modhala Kavithe...

Fayaz Khan the famous Hindustani style of singer singing the title song Ale Aleyo Alemari Kanasugalali Nee Jaari ellihudo Helo Nanagagi Yarayya Nee Alemari…is very well rendered. The English lines in this song is to live up to the present generation it seems.
Neeli Neeli Ninna Badhukali…Bannavu Badalithe…teli bandha Preethi mellane Mareyaithe…..is just one minute and 27 seconds bit – Shreya Goshal and Javed Ali rendered this bit song.
